Albums

The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for not having hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned The band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto embarked on the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.

Toto has released a number of music videos. The group has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the group is "Africa" which has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, where the band performs on top of a stack of African books.

The song "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe and a variety of other countries. Toto, known for the hit single "Africa", recently joined forces to promote their upcoming album, All In. The album, which was released on the 6th of November, 2018 included three brand new tracks from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun as also completed recordings of four tracks from the past with Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also included the cover of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe" which the band decided to include after hearing a rendition on the radio.
